Lou Laurinen (formerly known as Luca) - its her wedding day on Sunday

Thanks for these great photos. What a special day. I am guessing you still haven't stopped smiling. Health and wealth blessing, and very long life wishes for you both.

Aww, thank you! :)
We've been smiling ever since, haha.

I do hope we have a long rest of our lives ahead of us and I know we will enjoy our forever after.

Updated the decor in Pekka's office. Previously, there were a lot of Magic the Gathering posters on the wall, and he doesn't really play much anymore, especially since he has difficulty reading so it was a bit hard for him. All his buddies are into it, though.
His major special interest is hockey (which I'm sure you all know by now) so as a little surprise for him after our wedding, I redecorated in a way I knew he would like. He definitely approves and is so happy with it :)

The dog messed up the pillows on the bed a little and I couldn't get him off the bed, so just deal with him, lol
We have an extra bed in there for guests, but we do occasionally sleep in there because of the TV, if we fall asleep watching a movie or something.
Obviously would never get rid of the "Go Preds!" banner or the Finnish flag, those are some of his favorite possessions. Those were even on the wall of his room when he lived at home. So were the team flag and the other poster on the side wall.
I changed a couple of other things.

Above the TV, I added the logo from a pride night game (both of us are LGBTQ+), and a photo that I took myself at a Predators game we went to in person (in the matted frame.)
The Minecraft fox lamp in the window is in there for my friend Levi when he sleeps over, he is afraid of the dark.
The photos going up the wall next to the window are all kind of Polaroid-esque photos of us and our closest friends.

The three large posters were some of our favorite wedding gifts, from one of our friends, especially the painting of Pekka's jersey. These were from Etsy but they are custom.
Everything else is basically the same, those three Preds hats are his favorite and he wears them all the time. That blue couch came from the TV room in our old house. We need some better matching pillows for it though.
Those two framed autographs are another one of his prized possessions... bonus points to anyone who knows who those two are or recognizes the signatures ;)

The abstract painting with the colored squares is one that I made when I was in art school. It's his favorite.
The pinball machine, he stole out of the trash at the condo complex we used to live in, lol. It does still work.
The blue bunny he has had for basically his whole life. He loves stuffed animals which I think is really stinkin' cute. The Finlandia vodka bottle is another thing he's had forever, it was from a birthday party of his years ago (it's empty.) And the "Just one before I die" coffee cup is probably self-explanatory, but I'll explain it anyway (as of yet, the Predators have never won the Stanley Cup.) That's his favorite mug. He takes it to work with him every morning. It was a Christmas gift from my best friend.
The thing in the gold frame on the desk is a cross stitch that has absurdly stupid song lyrics on it, it was a gag and he laughs at it all the time.
The red hat hanging on the chair has the logo of the hockey team we play for on it, the logo just isn't visible in the photo. I have the same hat.

That's a relatively new bedspread, it's actually thrifted, and so is the striped pillow. He loves anything with a fair isle pattern and I thought the navy blue matched everything else nicely.
Mr. Doggo making a cameo again lol. And Toothy, the saber tooth plush.
Maybe hard to see, but the large photo on the side of the wall above the bed is from after one of our games, we won, and I kissed him while I was still in full kit and all sweaty lol. It's one of his favorite photos of all time, though.

Better view of the bed, and the custom paintings.
The double frame above the bed is also hard to see, but on the left is a photo of me and one of our other goalies, who I look like a Munchkin next to, and the other photo is the one I posted the other day of Pekka and his groomsmen. We printed that on our own photo printer. The prints of the professional wedding photos should be arriving tomorrow.
Of course, that bed wouldn't be his without a Predators blanket, lol. I got him that one for his birthday.
He is one of those people where *everything* has to be the theme of his special interest, but I find that really cute and endearing :) Reminds me of me when I was really young.
Our actual bedroom has a lot more variety, but he's such a sweet guy and a good husband that he was fully supportive, and even enjoys that everything is pink florals. I saw a video once that said something like "My husband would never say dumb (*crap) like 'You can't paint the house pink.'" I think that sums him up :)

I know the decor in our house isn't the most sophisticated or "grown up," but we love it the way it is. It feels like home, and it feels like us :)
Just wanted to share because it made us happy.
Sorry for the long-winded post haha. I'm known for that :P

Just a summer time TV viewing suggestion for Pekka, a lot of Canadian hockey players seem to like watching Australia's National Rugby League competition. It's not the rugby you might be familiar with.

(your summer, our winter)

Rugby Union is the game that's played internationally between Commonwealth countries but that's not the game we play locally. Rugby Union shares a lot of similarities with American Football - too many stoppages of play, watch one man push two men's heads up three men's arses, etc.

Rugby League is a much faster paced and way more entertaining game, if a little on the brutal side. There's basically only two Australian states that play - Queensland and New South Wales, but it has quite a fanatical following.

Thanks! :)
My younger cousin was a college rugby player, and he regularly watches rugby games too, so we're a little familiar with rugby already. We loved going to my cousin's games when he was in school.
We'll definitely want to check this out in the summer here.

"Watch one man push two men's heads up three men's arses" 😂 That's hilarious.

Awe wow, late to the party, but sending my congratulations. The photos add such context, a joyful day with the people you love all in one place, all with one purpose... to celebrate your love. Wishing you both the best 💕

Aww thank you Roisin, that's so kind! ❤️

It truly was the best day of both of our lives. We're so lucky to have the people we have in our lives.

And we're really feeling the love from everyone on here, haha! You guys are all so sweet!
