Link between autism and OCPD?

Does anyone know anything about a link between autism and obsessive compulsive personality disorder? I think my dad has both, and his symptoms seem so interconnected. I’ll research more online too.

Since discovering my own autism it's been pretty clear to me that OCD is a common comorbid condition of autism. At least for some of us. Though as to explains the how and whys of it all, that seems to still be a mystery in terms of both conditions being connected.

One thing though in my own case, I certainly wasn't born with OCD. At least I didn't think I had that sort of thought process in growing up. The origins of my OCD were trauma-based, according to my doctor. Hmmmm. I'm just grateful that I don't have OCPD...that would/could project my OCD to other persons and places. I'm content to be obsessed about only the environments I exist in under my own control or ownership. And to this day outside of this community I continue to keep my OCD very much a secret to others.

"Despite substantial similarities and overlaps in the pathophysiology of obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD) and autism spectrum disorders, little is known about the clinical and etiologic cohesion of these two disorders. We therefore aimed to determine the patterns of comorbidity, longitudinal risks, and shared familial risks between these disorders."

I would have suspected myself of OCD before I would have considered autism, but my scores for OCD (OCPD?) are super low.

I have always thought of OCD as a common, maybe very common co-morbid condition to Autism. Much like Anxiety. I never tested for it before but always assumed I had it just from self awareness. Curious, I just did an online test and scored very high, just below extreme OCD.
