Language Exchange

I was wondering if we could have a bit of a language exchange on this forum for people trying to learn languages.

I guess people that wanted to learn a language could post what language or languages they wanted to learn and then people who spoke said language could choose to contact and start a language exchange with them if they wanted to on the one on one message feature.

Sounds like something best done through private messaging. Otherwise the powers that be may not be able to fully monitor what is posted. That one might solicit such a request in English in that open channel, but that the subsequent process of learning would remain private.

I agree, some of us do that via PMs already (do computer languages count?).

Sometimes it can be useful to post a thread for help and have people follow up with private messages. I've seen a lot of people have success with that approach, at least :)

Do you mean a spontaneous language lesson like a phrase book
I don't know how language exchanges work exactly but I thought they were a good way to learn because you get to have conversations to practice and someone to correct you when you use the wrong grammar or something .
