I just confessed today to a girl who I'd been holding back from that I liked her as my gf, and I don't know where to go from there! She said she wants to be friends, and I would like to as well, but she said I couldn't hang out with her and some other friends, and I didn't know what to say! She isn't AS or NT.

As strange as it is, when you say that sort of thing to a girl, they often distance themselves from you, especially if you're the sort which is often perceived as being weird. In my experience, half the time "I want to just be friends" means, "I need time away because that's not appealing to me and I'm hoping you'll take interest in someone else." The other half of the time, it means, "I don't want that, and I'm going to let you down easy, but I don't think we can be friends any more."

Women are a mystery, my friend. Typically much less direct than males.

Good luck, and here's to hopes that I'm wrong. ;)
