Just a hello, from a brand new Aspie

Lealea

All that we see or seem is a dream within a dream.
Hi guys just to say a little hello, my names leanne I'm 25 and just been diagnosed as an aspie, I have a major problem speaking to people face to face and am hoping to make some friends and learn about what makes us unique. I'm still in the process of researching in to Aspergers and learning how its affecting me because its not something I knew about. I always thought that autism was quite a bad thing to have and I suppose a lot of people are unaware. So I am happy to meet you all and to know that I'm not alone with this.

Yes, being born upside down would make face to face difficult I imagine. Faces always look so weird upside down. I see a face with normalish eyes but the eyebrows are underneath, and where the nose and mouth should be is just a patch of lined skin. They look like they speak telepathically but then they speak and you see kinda disconnected lips moving near the top of their pointy head and I am outta there!
;):D

Kidding aside...

Hi & Welcome!
Indeed many of us found out late, sometimes very late in our lives.

You will find this forum useful on your journey of discovery. The resource section is extremely helpful. Welcome and good luck!:)

Hi Leanne! I like your haircut. I tried for that but my hair went all frizzy :(

I got an informal diagnosis in my thirties. I often find it difficult talking to people face to face. It is easier if I have a "motive" for talking to them--especially if talking about something in which I have an interest. I had a very hard time going to class in college because I often don't feel like being near others. But I like communicating online.

I hope you enjoy being here as much as many of us do!

Thank you everyone I am very happy to be part of this forum, and looking forward to making all the contribution I can

I am 40 and was diagnosed within the last year. It is good to find a place where others are dealing with the same things. My wife doesn't understand how I think at all and she gets very frustrated. I used to feel bad for the different things that I would do and the way that I did them. But I have come to determine that I am not wrong in the way that I do things and the way that I think. I am entitled to my own opinions. Welcome and hope you find lots of friends here.

Welcome aboard :)
