Jean Trends...yeesh...and other stuff...

There is a current jean trend? I’ve been wearing the same blue jeans for three years and they’re the same type of mine (high wasted) that I had a few years before the newer ones after my guinea pig chewed through the crotch area….I dont really care too much about fashion, although it is getting better — i dont really have a style, and dont really know the different jean types…

It can be fun to hunt for jeans, I found three pairs a while ago that fit perfectly, I looked like this: :D It felt like a win. There's not really a lot of different types, it's just things like boot cut, relaxed fit, skinny, slim, regular, tapered and loose. And of course high/low waist. I like to have jeans in different colors and shades so I go jeans hunting now and then.

I quite like skinny jeans. I tend to like not having fabrics that are too light and not close to my skin. Particularly on my legs. The problem is since I've gained so much weight I can't wear the super skinny jeans I used to like or I look like some sort of burst sausage :-(

I also like that they are kinda androgynous. So they feel like something that is a bit more stereotypically feminine. So I can (or at least could) wear them and not draw any negative attention from idiots.

The other night I was watching a local game show/music award show. For a while I thought it was a 80s throwback evening because so much of the clothes and colors looked 80s. It wasn't a 80s throwback evening! I think the 80s are actually back. :D
We've certainly got the economy right for the 80s especially here in the UK!

I'm quite looking forward to cool sport cars that don't look like they were designed by Salvador Dali! Delorean DMC 12s for example.

Why don't we just literally pretend it's the 1980s, like petition the United nations to all set the calendar back!? That would be a pretty cool do over! We would certainly have plenty of warning that COVID will happen within the next 4 decades.

Oh wait, I think maybe I'm being a little too optimistic. Ah well, I can't wait for Back to the Future to hit the cinemas again!

Is it just me or are the current jean trends some of the ugliest in recent memory?
Circa 2001-2005, I would argue, were the ugliest jean trends for women. Remember the tramp stamps and thong cleavage of the early 00's? Oh my gosh and the knees weren't the only parts with holes, they put them on the rear end of the jeans too. And this very harloty style of dress was everywhere in society, accompanied and encouraged by a very degrading pop culture representation of and treatment of women. Remember how every tv show had women having catfights, and it was perfectly okay to call someone the "B" word? Oh and everyone was using a close kin to the "N" word, in casual conversation. It was awful.

Said horrid jeans were accompanied by skimpy spaghetti strap tops, platform high heels, porn star makeup, and overprocessed bleach blond hair. It was a horribly demeaning time to be female. And it all started with those awful jeans.

Not only am I thankful that nowadays I can find pants that fully cover my hips, it's also nice to know that people are waking up to the idea of respect towards one another.
