Irrational Fears??

Okay, so I was wondering if any of you had any crazy irrational fears.... I have a weird fear of eyes being wide. Like seeing the whites of peoples eyes above and below their iris....specifically above has the same effect on me as a person holding a bloody knife. It scares me really bad and I don't know why. Does it have anything to do with aspergers? If so, do any of you have a similar fear?

at one point or another everyone aspie or not will have a "weird" fear,

me being an aspie, I had irrational fears of weird things as well, from about age 5 to about 8 I had a fear of power operated doors (doors on fronts of supermarkets) this fear was triggered by the elementary school I attended that had the "pressure mat" system by Stanley magic door, and it happened during a kindergarten parade (I tailgated(followed too closely behind) a power wheelchair user and the doors closed on the back wheels of a tricycle I was riding, and I screamed in fear I was gonna get squished like a guillotine. the fear went away a year or so later as the IR sensor type were used and no more pressure mats were used, now look at me, 28 years old and I find myself looking at doors due to I find them interesting!

the second fear i have had since i was about 7 until 12 years old, it was of SOLOR ECLIPSES, this one was due to how eyewitness news (channel 6) shown the eclipse from may 21'st back in 1994-95 (not sure exactly what year exactly) but when they zoomed in about 30X magnification, I got spooked that it would look THAT BIG in real life, well, that day in school I refused to go outside for recess, then I got home and watched a cartoon called Rin tin-tin and it shown a black disk covering the sun and a couple men tied to some stakes (as if to be burned at stake) main fear was I would go blind if i gone outside in sunshine during the solor event. I'm also over this one as well and find solor eclipses interesting to watch (safely with welding lenses or pinhole paper method, or on the wall or floor from the holes in horizontal window blinds (were the strings go through the slats)


as for the bloody knife scenes maybe its the capillary action of blood being soo close to your eye that makes it look "creepy" or something you see in a horror film? maybe you had a bad dream or watched a disturbing horror film that had a bloody knife scene??? some people don't react the same to films like these.

the eyes thing, it can also be about eye contact issues, or maybe fear of not knowing what the person is thinking (the person with widely open eyes) and the emotion that they are experiencing compared to your feeling/emotion or think they are going to be aggressive.

or maybe the mystery of how the eye works in relation to the brain?? maybe a medical film or TV show that had a patient with his eyeball popping out of his head?? that can trigger this as well (fear of widely open eyes)

Yoyos. I'm afraid of Yoyos. Less is the Yoyo is in the hands of a responsible adult. More if the Yoyo is out of control and in the hands of a child. One you give a child a Yoyo, that yoyo is immediately weaponized IMHO.

I think I worded that wrong... I don't have a fear of blood or bloody knives. I meant that seeing a person's eye wide has the same effect on me as if the person was coming at me with a bloody knife. It scares me really bad and has been a trigger for meltdowns before.
 
my irrational fear is being abducted by aliens at night. yip I'm petrified of that. I believe it was because my loving father used to play war of the worlds records which terrified me when I was about five. I would scream at him to turn it off and be crying and sobbing but he wouldn't.

I'm also mortally afraid of injections ... any syringe. Mum thinks it came from watching my siblings get blood tests as children and watching them scream ... as children do.
 
I also have an issue with aliens. Very much.
Also, injections and withdrawals. It's not the pain, it's the action.
The paranormal in many cases. Being in Louisiana, I grew up with Vudon Shamans in the family.
 
I have a rather strange irrational fear of currants that stems from an incident in my childhood, on one occassion in a cafe my grandad in order to have the last currant slice (a layer of pastry a filling of currants, more pastry than icing on top), he told me it was a flies graveyard-since then (I am now in my mid 40's) I have not touched a currant ever since! I obviously took what he said literally and it got stuck in my head.
