I used to joke a lot about being on the spectrum, but recently it became reality when my psychologist's screening was a decisive level 1. I've read that women entering the hormonal shift in life that comes in mid to late forties, can get a late life diagnosis. It's nice to know that all these things, differences, that have bothered me all my life have an explanation. That's a great comfort.

Hello and welcome, @Joh. Glad to hear you have a new way to think about your past and that you have joined us here.

Greetings, @Joh

It's always a relief to know something is for a reason. But in this discovery, is a new part of the journey to your best self. It can be a difficult journey. But it's a fun and fulfilling one too. It's all a matter of perspective, really.

Hopefully you'll find this to be a second home in some way. Plenty of posts, and friendly folks, on here.

It is very nice to discover things that bring some order or sense to what can turn out to be an entire constellation of life problems for which you could previously find no cause. I am not a fan of shrinks, and I have seen the institution wildly abused, and there's a lot of well-published precedent to support that. I will not ever seek a diagnosis, because I don't see any good coming from a formal label. There are plenty of labels which are not associated with a disability, and they get stigmatized. However, you should do what works for you, and I'm glad you're making sense out of things.

Kinda aliens here🐲, we don't really fit in on Earth. 😋 We get excited to meet new aliens.
Welcome
