Hi. I'm Angie, I am not only new here, but I am new to message boards in general. I am self diagnosed Aspie. I want to keep that out of my medical record though.
I like plants. I work in a greenhouse, and am getting a degree in Floriculture. Some day I want to have my own greenhouse and grow and sell medicinal plants as well as food plants. I want to sell some online and some at the farmer's market.
I also want to make medicines as well as aromatherapy oils, incense, and shampoo, lotion, and such.
I am a single parent with two boys. I found out about my Aspergian nature when my older son was diagnosed when he was 6. I wonder about my younger son having it because he's got a sprinkling of symptoms but doesn't seem to be quite like his brother and I. I also wonder if my mom had it looking back at some of her ways.
I joined this forum to have friends who 'get me' because it's been hard to find friends worth having.
I am going to create a profile when the site lets me so you know more about me and maybe I can post a pic too.

Hi Angie/earthsteward70. It is good to see a steward of the earth here. In what way are you an earth steward? One of my special focus topics is native plants, and I know a few people in Ilinois who are similarly obsessed. What about you?
 
I truly strive to be a steward of the earth. I'm part of the environmental-sustainability club at school, I love and respect all plants down to the weeds. I refused to mow my back yard this week because I found a weed that I hadn't Identified LOL! I had to make sure it wasn't medicinal, food, etc. first. :lol: I do want to have a greenhouse of native ornamentals, food especially heirloom and organic variety, and medicinal plants. (only the legal ones, the others in my class tease me about growing marijuana) Yes I feel obsessed about plants. I can't walk across campus without stopping to see and examine the plants in the turf.
