Ideas for a small hiding space

We'll move to a new place soon, and it will be smaller than our current one. Right now, whenever I need to escape, I go on top of a bunk bed we have in an extra room. No one can quickly see me up there, so I can somewhat hide.

We won't take the bunk bed to the new place, so I am thinking about a new hiding/escape place.

Those of you who have hiding/escape places in your (shared) apartments and houses: where and what are those?

Due to their construction, I can't use a wardrobe as a hiding place.

I would like a hiding place to be somewhat sheltered from view. That's more important than to be shielded from noise.

I'd greatly appreciate all ideas and inspiration!

I don't know how your new home looks, but maybe something like this?

As a kid, I liked to hide under my bed. Of course, an adult would need a bed higher off the floor.

When I was living with my step-sister in the same room, my bed was snuck behind this huge locker so nobody could see me and I couldn't see them. I was between the locker and 2walls

If you're looking for a small hiding space, one fun idea could be using furniture with hidden compartments. Lots of things like coffee tables or ottomans come with storage inside them. You can stash stuff there, and no one would know! You could also use the space under your bed or inside a hollowed-out book on a shelf. Sometimes, simple spots like the back of a drawer or behind picture frames work, too. If you're into DIY, you can modify furniture to create your secret nook. It's practical and adds a bit of mystery to your space! If you want something functional and sneaky, check out furniture with built-in storage!
Thank you for your reply! I'm actually looking for a hiding spot for myself, like a safe place or a refuge within my home where I can retreat to when I'm overwhelmed.
