I released my worst music today... gulp

Crabcore

Nerd
I don't really know why I decided to do this, but I had ~45 tracks sitting in my soundcloud account that were being kept private because I was too embarrassed to even showcase them alongside my more recent work. Today, a thought crossed my mind that I could put a fresh master on them and set them free, because life is more fun like that. Even if only a few people ever stop by to listen to them.

I'm not really sure if this is a good or bad idea, but it felt right. For some reason.

If anyone wants to check it out, it's a free download here, but I don't recommend it. The idea here is to discuss releasing your worst work 'as-is' - have you ever done it? Do you have any thoughts on it? I'd love to hear if anyone else has done the same!

Story kind of reminds me of Wire. In the early 80s, they released a live album called Document and Eyewitness. It consisted of some weird, very unfinished material that the audience clearly wasn't getting behind. Decades later in the 2010s, they reworked all of the material from that album and released it under the title Change Becomes Us.

EDIT: That album I did called Conversion Therapy was basically me throwing stuff at the wall and letting it stick. Usually I do a lot more refinement when making music, but for that album I was just experimenting and seeing what came out.
