I heard it best not confront...

I heard it was best not to confront gangs, here is a story where someone tried to confront a gang and what happened

Advice my parents gave me living on both coasts of the US. With emphasis on two specific, yet very organized groups in the 60s. When in two different states (VA/CA) where we lived was in close proximity to each of them. Persons best not to come into even casual contact with.

And to think 60+ years later, I still live within a few miles of one of them.

Reminds me of an old stand-up comedy routine by comedian Ron White... "I got thrown out of a bar"

"I'm a big guy... but I got thrown out of a bar like I was a Frisbee". "Then they squared up with me outside the bar." "I don't know how many of them I could take... but I knew how many they were going to use... and that's some handy information."

It's not, at all, like those martial arts movies where the hero defeats an entire group of bad guys... allowing the hero to make contact with one at a time, one after another. A gang... they're going to swarm you all at once. It doesn't matter if you're a professional... reigning heavyweight champion of the world... you won't have a chance.

Yep. With ball peen hammers tucked into their belts, while none of them being carpenters. Best not to offer them a drink, let alone look them in the eye. We must know the same people... ;)

I still recall a former member of this community who told me he once led such a lifestyle many years ago. I always liked him and believed what he told me. A very interesting fellow...with an amazing understanding of his own autism, let alone others.

Don Quixote didn't really succeed in his attack on the windmill.

However, he took the beating in stride.

The lesson I took away is "Find smaller windmills, and expect pain."
