My dad always said, "if you want friends, never talk about religion or politics." It seems, looking back, maybe he was trying to avoid visitors, because he ranted on both, quite often. Very strong opinions, and he got loud, to the point everyone else that didn't agree must be an idiot. O_o
I lost 300 friends on Facebook once, for pointing out how their idol was a wolf in sheep's clothing.
 
Learn from your mistakes and don't repeat what it is that got you in trouble again.
