We all know that hypnosis helps people in a lot of ways, and at first I was a bit scared of trying it, but ever since I found this guy (girl maybe?) on YouTube named Fiona Clearwater (username UltraHypnosis), his(her?) videos have seriously helped me dramatically!

From little practical jokes (The floor is lava/ice, everything makes you laugh, etc.) to functional spells like sleeping, lucid dreaming and arachnophobia, this guy(girl?) is a freaking WIZARD.

Aforementioned, hypnosis and aspergers aren't really enemies but aspies like myself can get a little spooked by it.

Have you guys ever been hypnotized before? What was it like for you?

I watched one last night for sleeping on a beach, I'm STILL groggy from waking up!

Lavender....lavender....lavender....

Never tried it, although at one time I was contemplating undergoing past-life regression hypnosis. Trying to determine who and what I am.

But something intervened that took me in a dramatically different direction. Stumbling onto this thiing called "Asperger's Syndrome".

I did recall two people from work many years ago who underwent hypnosis to quit smoking. One succeeded and never smoked again, to my knowledge. The other backslid when a marketing rep offered him a cigar and he became hooked shortly thereafter, eventually quitting permanently, but not as a matter of hypnosis.

Hypnosis can't really be seen as a permanent fix for your problems. The effects of hypnosis wear off after a few hours. If hypnosis could fix mental problems, everyone would just get hypnotized to fix problems like smoking and overeating. You have to keep going back for more hypnosis to fix those problems.

I used self hypnosis from a book and it was a significant help.

The changes can be permanent if the hypnosis is repeated, but it's also possible to slip back into bad habits.

The biggest help was probably to stop worrying so much. That felt great and certainly lasted months.

This was the book I used and I recommend it.

Well I never really said I was looking for a PERMANENT fix, just a nudge in the right direction.

Lavender.

Friend tried it once, but you have to be careful and choose someone who actually knows what they are doing. There's been reports of people going back to past lives etc which is fasinating but can be scary.

I tried watching ones by wutsmyfantasy on YouTube but his spirals are too fast for me, Ultra's spirals are just right, and his voice is so calming and reassuring!
