I'm always ravenous. Only time I wasn't was my brief time experimenting with keto. Also, before getting sick and when taking adhd meds, my appetite was normal.

I wish my hunger subsided once my teenage years were over, but alas. I’m 32 and still pretty much hungry all the time, unless I’m going through emotional turmoil. Then the appetite is gone. But I’ll still eat because I’m an emotional eater as well.
It’s too bad my metabolism doesn’t agree with always being hungry, I really have to watch what I eat to prevent gaining a lot of weight.
I’m hungry all the time unless I get engrossed in something. Then I totally forget it,

Hunger is a feeling I rarely have.
I eat small meals and don't snack in between.
Yes, I noticed this recently. About two or three years ago I wasn't eating as much. It wasn't that I had body dismorphia, but I didn't have the physical sensation that I was hungry anymore. Unless it was in extreme cases because I get low blood sugar.

I think this is because of my IBS because I get chronic constipation, which can be numbing or painful. I talked to my doctor about this concern and she said its fine as long as I'm eating something and retain normal body weight. (Which I have)

That being said, I love food.

Eat four cups veggies a day of which half are green ones. Potatoes, dairy, and grains binding especially wheat, except sweet potatoes are not. Black tea is binding because of tannins. Chocolate is binding. .Cheese binding. Eat beans. Plant oils are more cleansing than animal fats. Wheat gives me that problem. So I don’t eat more than one slice in a day or two at the most and it is a high fiber. Coke is binding and caffeine. Small amounts fruit ok but watch the sugar. Take a probiotic. Nuts, seeds, and popcorn can mess up IBS. Drink more liquids.

I can’t let hubby bring junk food in the house. It sometimes goes missing. Then I hear....” Did you eat my donuts?”

So that explains my weird intolerance for popcorn! Though all cases are different. Kinda like aspies. Like I can have spicy foods, those make me feel good. But I can't eat large amounts meat as it irratates my stomach. I can't have anything BBQed because the taste of charcoal or that smokey taste makes my stomach say "NOPE." I mostly leave off tofu or baked fish. I love my starches, and they don't trigger me. (Unless they are burnt) I can't have large amounts of dried fruits (raisins, cranberries, etc) I like my diet, as its not restricting. I've recently be taking a new medication (for my narcolepsy) and one of the side affects for me is loose stools once or twice a day. I appericate your advice though. :)

It’s always great when something works out! Happy for you!

IBS has little pouch like pockets from being stretched from constipation. Hard seeds, bits of nuts, can get stuck in those and cause infection that becomes gangrenous and sets up sepsis and kills you. But you will know it if that happens because your intestine will shut down and you will not poop at all. I am so glad you have a remedy. I had a friend die of it and another friend who had poop problems from diabetic nerve damage and she is ok but she had to have the damaged part removed. I just have one tiny pouch in mine and I can still eat everything. But if I get a problem, I go meatless a couple of days and eat mainly green veggies, beans, and sweet potatoes. I’m posting this because many psych drugs cause this and us Aspies get misdiagnosed or made to take lots of constipating drugs. I usually refuse those kinds of medicines. But you made it through! yeah!

To repeat from earlier, I want to eat more than i need, but i often just forget about it, sometimes even for a day.

There are many weird things regarding what i like and don't.

Sugar is a broadly used highly addictive chemical to enhance the flavor of most processed foods, usually people don't notice the sweet taste. My problem with that is that I'm not as addicted, and much more sensitive to sweet tastes than appearantly anyone in my surroundings. It's really a problem for me to find food, at least in germany, that actually tastes properly and is not too sweet.
Does anybody else have problems with specific tastes, especially salt or sugar?

I have a severe problem with it because of borderline diabetes. If I eat even fruit or too much bread, my sugar spikes and when more insulin is released, the insulin makes me severely hungry again. High fructose in a dessert will affect my taste buds in such a way that it is like a heroin addict that has skipped his high a few times and someone gave him a tiny bump of a hit of heroin with out the full dose. So I will go berserk and eat the whole piece of dessert. So what I do is not allow such foods in the house. If I do buy sweets it can’t have high fructose and has to be a single serving. If hubby buys sweets he has to keep it in a hidden place in the man cave and not talk about it. Usually I eat low carb and allow a one time bite of something sweet when i crave a sweet but it can’t be something that will set off a trigger. I can do 90% dark chocolate and take a fourth of a serving. I have an app to track micros and calories and this holds me accountable. All restaurant meals I eat a bite or two and nibble on it for two or three days. A 10 oz steak is three meals and I add veggies to it. Sorry for the long post but I have an chronic issue and haven’t lost weight and kept it off but I no longer gain weight or suffer diabetes issues long term. For sweets I don’t go over 12 carb serving of fruit. I can only have half a fruit serving and only with a meal or Ill get a sugar spike to 200 and then my body reacts with a barrage of insulin. High fructose will trigger me immediately on my taste buds though. I feel it happening. I can take a quick bite of salty food and it will stop the sensation. But Inhave to force myself to stop itnwith the salty bite. So yes, it is a corporate manufacuring issue and many restaurant food is not fresh cooked. It comes from a restaurant supply chain from a manufacturer if it is a dessert or sauce.

Most of the really good food not based on salt or sugar i found was from villages in turkey and russia. Self control, as a kid i thought it's some **** people pretending to be smart mumble around with.
I seem to be more prone to experience sugar crashes, many don't notice, first my brain starts being even more active and less focused, and for the next few hours I am much less focused and slowed down.
The worst was when i drank 2 litres of sprite at once.

Nope, It is a chemical process in the body for some people. Been scientifically proven and cooperations put the stuff in there on purpose to make us eat more and buy more. Turkey and other countries are less Industrialized with fake food. USA the worst. Obama removed some inspections and government regulation and now let countries “check their own quality”. They set the fox over the hen house and boy am I mad!!!!

Germany is pretty bad too, at least awareness is better. Russia and turkey commercially even worse. The difference is that in rural places in russia and turkey it's still possible to reliably get food from direct private sources, for less money, with much better quality. And food in russia and turkey having lots of sun and good soil.

I think I’m happiest when grazing.
Making an effort to eat what I’d term as vey little but often.

I don’t mean a lettuce leaf or spec of dust. I mean a sandwich, an apple, raw carrot or celery, chocolate, nuts, toast, breakfast bars.
Something I can just grab and eat.

If I’m ‘on-one’ (anxious) which is more often than not, being presented with a full plate of food gets my gag reflex excitable.

If I’m preparing a meal I nibble and taste and eat pieces of raw vegetables as I’m going along.

I rarely feel hungry during daylight but know I have to keep on refuelling.

During the sleepless nights, I crave junk food and carbs. Particularly in the early hours.

I just ate bbq chicken wing and small breast without most skin, 1/4 potato salad, 1/4 baked beans, 1” x1” piece cake, all for 300 and something calories, 20 carbs, 12.5 fat. Feel like I didn’t even eat anything. Guess I’ll have to go choke down a can of vegetables.

I'm not very in touch with my hunger cues. I tend to not notice I'm hungry until very hungry or notice I'm full until I'm very full. I never notice hunger/thirst cues if in a situation with a lot of noise/activity (for instance when at work). I'll forget to drink and eat. I don't have the best relationship with food (had an ED for the longest time, not sure if I do anymore).

I'm always hungry. I have the appetite of a growing 12-year-old boy. The only problem is, I'm a 35-year-old girl who stopped growing many years ago...lol XD
