How to develop order when there is none

Hello. Other than my lack of social skills related to autism, I have severe troubles with order and change. I hate it when people change their schedule on me or someone wants me to do something when I'm already busy or someone throws in that we are doing something and I don't know what it is. I get angry inside. How do I make my mind have order? I know if I develop this I'll be a bit saner in my mind. I need structure. Thanks anyone for responses :).

I have a bit of the same trouble myself. Sometimes it just isn't possible to bring order to some things and I simply have to deal with the situation as it is presented. When this happens, I break the situation down into a bunch of smaller steps and I can usually overcome unless the situation involves too much additional stimuli.

I've found tools like Any.Do for smartphones and ProjectLibre for PCs to be very useful for developing order for things I have control over. Unfortunately, as the Zen Masters say, the only constant is change. Finding your balance between order and change is difficult but not impossible. I'm 39 and just now learning about this balance.

I am trying to become my own independent contractor because I want more control over my life. I love to drive and deliver cargo and freight. In order to make this happen, I have to bring order to the random thoughts in my head about what I need to do. This is where ProjectLibre (it's totally free) has helped tremendously. Since starting a business is a project, ProjectLibre has helped me take random thoughts, order them, and set a timeline for completion.

Perseverance. The will to adapt and overcome. Even when you're hard-wired to routinely suffer bitter disappointment and frustration when things continually change. To evoke a fight rather than to initiate flight. But to use your anger in a more practical way.

It's exhausting, but it keeps me with the ability and track record to exist in a dynamic environment, even though I absolutely loathe change.

I believe this is an excellent point. Many times I've had to use raw, nose-to-the-grindstone perseverance to overcome. Sometimes, it's even helpful to fall back on what we know and use what we know as a way to help persevere in an unfamiliar situation.

Thanks for this. I do use Any.do. I found this app recently and I do like it. I will have to try projectLibre though. Never heard of this before. Thanks for the response :).

Sorry, it didn't let me quote your post from above, so my main post is above this. And it's good you are doing your own business/finding your own work. Good luck [emoji3].

I almost have to do my own business because I have such trouble in the workplace. As I become an older Aspie, I know more about what I want and do not want and I'm less willing to do what I do not want to do. When you work for an employer, it is a dictatorship. You have three choices: quit, do what they tell you to do, or get fired. I'm sick of getting fired from jobs....
