I was watching the Big Short last night and was wondering form other people who have had Aspergers and not made alot of money like this Michel Burry and others makes you feel makes me feel a little dumb BUt I think I can still make it one of these days but haven't achieved success at all moneywise yet be 27 next month but I wonder too If they had more support from their family I have not had this and was a slacker in school that helped them out I have my shortcomings like in grammer I dont use that properly kind of think it can be a waste of time as long as you spell properly but anyways let me know your thoughts on this matter.

I don't watch tv, so I don't know about this show. I just try to not waste time focusing in on others' lives. Why should I?
- I do not ask this in a sarcastic way.

Some people simply have more motivation and opportunity than others. Some people are better at decision-making than others. It's not all about how smart you are. I'd say I'm pretty intelligent, and I know where to place a semicolon, but I haven't made a lot of money because I lack motivation, opportunity and decision-making skills. I've learned to live with it.

By the way, good grammar is the difference between helping your uncle, Jack, off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse. ;)

It is my honest opinion that the amount of money one makes does not determine how rich they are,it is what experiences they have in life that does ;)

I have discovered a niche that combines my skills, but now, in its eighth year, it is starting to pay off.

I think people do well in things they concentrate upon. It is said that Martha Stewart only slept 4-5 hours a night; the rest of the time, she was scheming, stealing, and backstabbing people to make it to the top. And she did! But she also went to jail and had very few people to willingly come to her 50th birthday party.

There is definitely more to life than that :)

I'm 44 and I am not successful, money wise, as I definitely lack motivation and because I've never had anyone in my corner. We all have shortcomings, nobody is 100%perfect. I'm stuck in life where I can't support myself and this truly makes me vulnerable. I hate being dependent on anyone. I admire people with aspergers and Autism who have not let this stand in their way of achieving their goals.

I have made a good living all of my life, but I am far from being rich. Like Nitro said, money is not the only thing that makes you rich. I have a wonderful family, I have been able to take good care of their needs, I have worked with my special interest and I have worked alone all these years. So I would have to say that Aspies (or anyone else) who have made a lot of money, do not make me feel bad. A lot of them have not had as good a life as I have had.

We all have to live our own lives and experience our own successes and failures. Not anyone elses. Besides, I don't have the intellect of anyone who can become a medical doctor and then move on to becoming a successful entrepreneur and hedge fund manager. I'm lucky enough to have graduated college and held down a job or two for a sustained period of time.

And I don't have any predatory instincts to take a billion dollars of investors' money and use it to speculate against subprime loans. Admittedly a very smart and insightful move, but it's not in my mindset to exploit the misfortune of others who so desperately wanted to own their home.

All one can really do is to try to make the most from whatever resources they actually have. Aspie or not.
