How long do you microwave your bowl of ice cream for?

I had never heard of this, but I presume the answer should be related to the temperature of the freezer.
 
I prefer buying ice-cream brands that remain soft in the grocer's freezer -hence it's uncesessary to soften ice-cream via a microwave oven.
