How are you at Fairgrounds

For me personally, even the bumper cars used to frighten me. I could just go on the merry go round. And the reason for this, is because I cannot cope with the sensations in the pit of my tummy and how I feel completely out of control.

What prompts me to ask, is because I was just on facebook and someone posted this small video of a machine, where tons of people are strapped in, in a circle and it acts like a swing; slow at first and low, but gets higher and faster, until it literally goes right around, so the people are upside. Now as I was watching, I am feeling sick and had to close my eyes.

Not been to one in years. I actually do not mind the atmosphere and always enjoyed the stands and was always good with shooting lol ( can't stand guns), so would come away with prizes.

I'm pretty good at fairgrounds. I used to be and still am a little afraid of some of the more up and down sort of rides, the ones that put you 100 feet up in the air sort of thing. Nowadays I love rollercoasters at parks and I'm looking forward to the VR ghost train ride at Thorpe Park here in the UK .

I prefer the "tamer" rides, like the merry-go-round, Ferris wheel, etc. I don't like roller coasters either. Last summer I went on a roller coaster, and it was just a little one, but I hated it. It terrified me.

I am ok with some theme parks but not a huge fan, last time I went to one was in 2004 and before that, 1998. Fairgrounds though I really do not like them at all, way too noisy, too many flashing lights and usually held on the hottest days of the year. Too much.

I love the rides and loathe the crowds. I only go on rainy, cold days during school term times so there are as few people there as possible. Then I giggle like a mad person.

Don't like rides cause I'm not in control. They're loud, predictable, therefore boring. I eat and try to climb the rope ladder for toy.

I love the adrenaline-rush kind of rides. I know they're relatively safe so they don't scare me.

Reminds me, when I was a kid I went to the fair one year and they had this really tame ride where you just sat on a bench seat and it rocked you back and forth gently and slowly swung you around. I found it incredibly soothing and spent like $60 in tickets just to ride it over and over. One of those "how did I miss getting diagnosed" memories.

I've never been one for fairs - whether the permanent versions or the traveling fairs that turn up for a week at some point.
I've been to my local traveling fair (the largest traveling fair in Europe, no less), which comes for one week in October a few times, but I've never been really that fussed.
The combination of the smells (stalls selling things like burgers, bratwurst, brandy-snaps, candyfloss, etc.), the sound of the crowds and rides and background music (which is so loud you can feel the vibrations through the ground and proves very uncomfortable), the bright lights and the huge crowds of people is enough to make me feel ill without even going on a single ride.
Add to the fact that I've no intention of going on any of the rides as I'm not that kind of person and that the prices they charge are ridiculous - even for something simple like hook-a-duck. I should add that the few times I have gone where when my family brought me along because I couldn't be left at home by myself.
Nowadays, I just try my best to ignore the fair and deal with the bus delays as a result of the traffic along the streets where it takes place

The only thing I do like about my local fair is the theme song sung by Pickled Ginger.
The song is here:

As a child they were always too noisy for me. Walking down the area with all the loud games and the screaming announcers on loudspeakers was more than I can handle.

Now that I'm older I still don't care for them but I feel like I have to take my daughter. I am not into rides. They are more thrill than I care for. And of course the crowds are aweful. We get there early and leave by noon. It's so crowded you can't move.

Not my idea of a good time.

I haven't been in ages. I don't like the crowds or likes.

Love the food.

I didn't used to like the rides but I recently went to Disneyland for the first time and had a blast, surprisingly. I could have ridden the tea cups all day. And the big roller coaster was terrifying until I closed my eyes and then I rather enjoyed it.
