My name is Megan, and I am 20 years old, and recently (as in last week), I was officially diagnosed with High Functioning Autism.

I am not really good at socially interacting with people, and I am not really good at keeping friends since they don't really understand me. I am also obsessed with music, computers, reading, and writing. I used to write in notebooks, but I wrote so much that I could take up 2 notebooks in about 3 days, so I write on the computer instead on a word processor now. And I read anything I can get my hands on including news articles, books, cretive writing, poems

I am very happy to find these forums where I can communicate with people that are like me, and can understand what I am going through on a daily basis. Right now I am coming to terms with the diagnosis still, but it does explain my behaviors from when I was very young until now. And I consider it a gift since I've been seeing people say that people with Autism and High Functioning Autism have average or above average IQ.

I am looking forward to posting here on the forums, hope to see you all soon. :D

Greetings Megan, my name is Craig, it is a pleasure to meet you acquaintance.

As a huge fan of fine literature myself, I look forward to reading your comments and learning more about your interests, opinions, views and really just yourself in general.

Perhaps you might tell us a little bit more about yourself, such as your chosen profession and the qualifications and/or skills you picked up so far? It's always interesting to find out what career those of us within the spectrum have chosen for ourselves.

Since I love doing things on the computer, or things doing with computers, I was thinking maybe becoming an IT Tech, but also since I am creative, I might go to college for Graphics Design or things with creating 3D computer graphics for movies or video games.

Other than things with computers I have skills with writing, organization (taught myself because I kept loosing track of things), and I have a few other skills as well, but they aren't major or that well developed yet. I have also tried to learn Spanish, but it didn't really work out because the teacher's didn't bother to go past a certain point.

Other than that, I like taking walks when it's nice out to clear my head and get away from family so I don't have them bothering me while I am trying to figure things out on my own.

So far it has been great on the forums, and I am happy to have found the forums where I can talk to people like myself. :)
