Hi!

My name is Rich. I'm 53. I have an official ADHD diagnosis and my cousin suggested look at Aspergers Syndrome symptoms. I have completed every online test for Aspergers and all score very high. Strong correlation with the symptoms: look through the same 3 magazines as part of my morning ritual, formal language, I have exactly 1 friend. Interests are firearms, railroads, working out, theology. They never go away, only go dormant for awhile than reawaken. Cannot STAND small talk. I get seriously mad and frustrated. But it's something I would like to be able to do. But if I have to talk on my area of interest I'm like an evangelist. I've dealt with this by developing coping strategies. Almost like observing myself in any situation as a third party to control behaviors. I totally get the 'talking AT people.' I don't have health coverage so I cannot afford a formal diagnosis.

Welcome :)

You'll definitely find many of us here can relate to your situation. We've got quite a lot of information for you to browse through on this website if you're hoping to learn more; I recommend taking a look at our resources too, for books relating to Asperger's and Autism.
