Hi together

Hey together,

i‘m 24 years old from Germany! (so English isn’t my native language)
I got diagnosed with Asperger Autism in 2023, since then i‘ve also been diagnosed with PTSD, Dissociations, ADHD and maybe also Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (still getting checked out)…
All of them quite recently so it‘s been a lot to take in and I haven‘t really talked to anyone about it except my therapist!

I‘m hoping to find a few people here, who have expierenced the same things. Or having quite similar interests ;-)

I do a lot of artsy/craftsy stuff, e.g. working with leather & painting, but also playing piano & listening to music (everything nearly, mostly soundtracks, metal, Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams,… - i know - quite a strange combination).
And also i like animals (my job is taking care of dogs, a pony and other animals), normally i‘m a lot outside too!

Thanks for reading, i would love to hear from you!

Hi ands Welcome. Arts and animals are fairly common interests here as is music. Though you might find differences in specificity. For instance I love dogs, but focus my studies almost exclusively on Chihuahuas. :D

Welcome, @artsygirl_103

Art is definitely a great outlet. I generally draw myself, mostly. Also. There is nothing wrong with having a mixed taste in music. We all are our own individuals. I am a metal, rock, industrial, and electronic music kinda person myself.

It's great you have a job fitting your love for animals. They are the best companions, when all else feels chaotic and uncertain.

Wise decision on your part. I'm inclined to think you can learn far more about your autism through hearing about the traits, behaviors and experiences of autistic people far more than reading dull, dry and professional medical commentaries.

Most of all that it can be rewarding to realize that you are not alone in all this. ;)

Welcome to the Autism Forums.

Welcome!
I read "Germany" and "music" and I instantly thought of the guitarist Bernth. He is one of my favorite musicians.

Welcome to the forums!
Music, animals, arts, yes, I think you'll find a lot of people here with common interests.
Also talking with others, you will learn a lot. I know I have. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Yes, I‘ve already learned a lot through Facebook/Insta actually by reading posts written by NTs!

I‘ve just recently got the idea of joning a forum, I‘ve never been in one before!
Happy to be here!
