Hi, looking for Aspie friends

Hi, my name is Andre. I am new to the forum.

I was diagnosed with depression and OCD in elementary school, and with a verbal learning disorder in high school (I apologize if my posts are somewhat hard to understand because of grammatical errors). I spent a couple of years in residential treatment and somehow managed to graduate from university. It wasn't until after I graduated and could not find employment because of severe anxiety that I was diagnosed with Aspergers. It has taken me a couple of years to comprehend this and learn how to socialize (...well, I'm still learning).

I am currently between jobs in Japan and have a lot of NT friends (most with ADD or anxiety issues), but none who are Aspies. I hope to try and learn more about my condition and help others if possible by joining the forums.


Interests: animals, cooking, nature
Educational Background: cultural anthropology

I hope my introduction isn't too...odd lol?

ADD and Anxiety here too, in addition to ASD, lol, most "A" words could be applied to me. Japan! Such a beautiful place, I saw blue glowing ocean bacteria when I was there (2003.)
