Hi I'm from Florida

I'm here to learn as much as I can. I suspected something wrong with my boyfriend with lack of empathy and called him terrible names like: narcissist and psychopath, which upset him saying i hurt his feelings and he withdrew. He said he didn't mean it and i searched again and found Aspergers. Then upon closer evaluation of the "female" adult traits, I noticed myself. I am not officially diagnosed, but I am certain as to this is why I've had difficulty all of my life with relating and being different.

Welcome to the community. It is quite an event to open that door to new understanding. Hopefully the insight will prove helpful and also prevent future name calling.
I hope you enjoy the site, best wishes to you and your boyfriend.

Thank you Rocco. He's very sad and doesn't seem to believe me at this point. Don't really know how to handle it. Neither one of us are diagnosed. I bought a book with quotes the he says and three specific issues we had were all in one page. I showed him but still hmmmm I don't know how to get through to him.

Some people are unwilling or unable to accept the possibility. Some take time while other embrace it. Patience and understanding are most important in my opinion.
I have noticed people sometimes deal with it in stages like mourning or what ever. Denial, bargaining, acceptance, etc.

I know that words like narcissism can be very hurtful and trigger intense introspection, reflection, and defensive feelings.

Hopefully some time with smooth things over maybe? Don't apply too much pressure if he resists the idea.

I am not qualified in any way to give advice. I only have my own experience to base things on. I could be entirely wrong, just my opinion.
