Hi all

Call me Matt. I am from east coast of Australia - assuming most of you people are from the US since there are no AS online forums website are hosted from Australia. About myself, I was diagnosed with AS (mild case) when I was 12 - I'm nearly 23 now. My AS case is very effective to my social communication and relationships. I also have a hearing loss, two hearing aids for both ears. Combination of AS and hearing loss makes me to suffer more.

Past five years I have been through University and an eight month working holiday trip to the US. I have completed my BSc degree in environmental science and sustainability at end of 2012. Since then I was travelling through the US via 37 states - came back to Australia back in July.

At the moment I have difficulty making new friends and a relationship with a girl. Despite waiting for my career job offer I'm currently working part time at a local deli cafe for now. It has been six months already.

More about myself, I am anti-conservative person. I am a big campaign person in for humanity and environmental protection. I am a big geek and nerd for politics, culture, ethics and science. I am part of a political party and involved in several local organisations for my interest and passion.

Good to meet you all.

Hope there are others in similar situation as me!

Matt.

Hi, Matt. I'm Angie. I just joined last month. Everyone here is very friendly - I'm glad I joined. I've been a nurse for 11 yrs. Big into politics and world news (I'm conservative :) ) I, too, have difficulty making friends and prefer my own company. I'm currently going back to college for another degree. It's very nice to meet you. Welcome!

Hi, Matt!

Don't worry---we have Aspies from all over the world here, including many Aussies! :)

I'm interested in environmental issues myself. But I'll save my spiel on that for another thread. Welcome!

Hi Matt :D

Welcome! I'm from Australia too; Brisbane. Where in Australia are you from?

Hi Matt, and welcome!

Your working holiday trip sounds so fun, it must've been wonderful to see so much of another country. I always admire those who can be away from home for so long, as I imagine that can be quite a challenge in itself.
