Yes, I think so, probably enough to make it into a trilogy but that's part of the problem - lots of ideas spinning around in my head that sometimes I wish would just go away.

Write them down. Then see which one matches your story and gives you room to make more stories for a trilogy.

What's stopping you? Why aren't you convinced it's the right thing to do?

I think it's a fear of failure and lack of confidence that I can develop the characters I have created, particularly the two Aspies, in a realistic and believable way. However, I've only been on here a couple of days and I can already feel my confidence improving.

Thanks for your suggestions. The only one I am familiar with is Temperance Brennan - I felt her Aspie traits were far more pronounced in the TV series than in the books. I will look up the others.
Both my Aspies so far are male and it took me long enough to feel comfortable about them, so a female Aspie would be bound to take a while for me to get to "know" and be able to portray her well. She would have to start as a minor character and grow slowly but, yes, my preferred story line for my next book (if I do decide to write it!) does include such a character.
