I'm a 51 yr old mum of 2 boys (men). 1 aged 23 dx HFA and 1 aged 21 emotional and behavioural difficulties with autistic tendencies.
In recent year I have struggled more and more with life. i have always been 'different' but as I have got older and become involved in more things through work and church i have found myself having more blowouts and several stress snaps in a day sometimes. I spoke to my church pastor who told me striaght she thinks I have ASD. Since then I have mentioned it to a few close friends and family who responded in a 'well yes, we worked that out years ago' kind of way. I am now awaiting an oficial diagnosis. My gp has referred me to an autism body and i am awaiting assessment.

It is apparently common for those on the spectrum to have a Mid Life Meltdown. Happened to me, and how I got diagnosed.
