My long term partner has just been diagnosed with Aspergers . So I am joining forums and groups so that I can support him and also learn more about his condition. Is anyone else the partner of an aspie ?

In that I feel there is two of me in here I can relate, but really its just me. I hope you make the connection you are looking for here.
Welcome though,
Good Luck

Thank you. I'm sure I will. Reading some of these threads I already know I have made the right decision in joining. Appreciate your reply.

Wish my husband had the same attitude as you, but sadly, doesn't, so bravo you, for wanting to help and understand, rather than pushing him to do things he cannot do.

Oh and I am the aspie and only found out 5 year's ago, but now confident enough to say ie not official.

I am the aspie myself but my wife is very interested in learning more about what is going on with me. Welcome.

Welcome :)

I hope you find a few answers here. You'll find our members to be rather friendly, and informative. I've added a few suggestions, for books, that might interest you. There are many other books you can browse, in our resources section: Autism & Asperger's Resources | AspiesCentral.com

Bonnie, read The Journal of Best Practices by David Finch. He's an Aspie & he wrote the book for his wife as he was determined not to lose her. (They are still married!) it's a funny read but also real as it relates to dealing with the differences of an Aspie/NT partnership.

Yeah a very good book. I just finished it.
