Hey it's me Jennifer I feel that's fine with me too hard for me to do I'm in the special-education school so it's difficult for me to be in school were kids are mean sometimes.

Sometimes my friends and kids go up to me and don't ask I don't understand what they're doing and it confuses me.

I don't know whether they're trying to hurt me or not but right now. Right now I'm just focused on my homework it's hard for me to concentration I also have proms concentrating on school work I keep falling asleep in class sometimes it's anyone have any tips?

hi jennifer, ive got no tips sorry but i just wanted to say hi,i knew you on wrongplanet-i was kingdomofrats there.

My general advice is keep trying your best.

I don't hold the concept of homework with much regard, mainly because the only answer we had in school as to why we have to do it was "to give teachers an understanding about what we need help with", but if they ever looked over the work we did in class (as they should) they'd already know where we were going wrong. If your teachers aren't noticing you fall asleep in class then homework isn't going to help.

If you don't get punished with detention for not doing homework then don't bother with it, the extra stress won't do you any help if you can't even deal with classes.

Try to talk to your teachers or a counsellor about your issues so they can help you personally.

I hated Homework at school and very rarely actually did it unless it was for one of the very few teachers I actually liked, such as Mr Bradley the Maths bloke.

Maybe see a psychiatrist. Sometimes they can give you something to help you focus and boost your energy. That was the only way I could get my energy boosted. They gave me Ritalin and then Concerta. I currently take Concerta. Ritalin is as needed.

Make sure you're getting a good night's sleep, first of all. When people interrupt you, you might say something like 'can we talk later? I really want to concentrate on my homework right now' or 'hey, can you give me five minutes? I really want to beat this [math/science/reading] assignment.'

School is meant to prepare future college students for college, in theory, but in practice it doesn't actually do that. It doesn't prepare you to live on your own either, or else i'd have learned basic stuff there too like how to pay taxes or do your first job interview. Homework's just busywork that may or may not promote further understanding of the subject matter. If one plans to go to college this helps none in preparing for it, as in college you have chapters to read and papers to write - not homework or worksheets. School would be much better if they prepared you for the real world. I saw a lot of things during my highschool years as a means to an end. For instance, I sucked at math and hated the teacher but I stuck with it simply because I needed it to graduate and, logically, learning how to deal with a bad teacher in a positive manner would teach me how to deal with such people in the real world after I graduated.

Hi Jennifer im gonna try and help you out :) im sorry but i don,t understand what your saying ( that's fine with me too hard for me to do ) ? I was in special - education classes back in my school days. if kids are mean to you just try being polite and say please don,t be mean to me and if that doesn,t work just turn around and ignore them. be like hi could you be a little more forward so i can understand you better and we can bolth help each other out. try telling yourself i need to try harder to concentrate on my school work so i can get it done and coffee should help you stay awake :)

I think one of the main functions of homework is to get you used to the idea that sometimes you have to do something that you Have to do instead of what you Want to do. I could fill volumes with the things I wanted to do instead of go to work, but I had to go to work.

I try to get rid of as many stimuli as I can, I wear ear plugs and sunglasses and try to work somewhere quiet, and it usually does it for me. Listening to white noise can be good, too, to cover up noises. I heard that ADHD medication can help with some autism traits, such as concentration. I also wear sunglasses all day so I won't get tired by fluorescent lights, so I have a lot more energy to focus. However I never did homework until college, because it was doing well without it since I have a very high IQ, but in college homework counts, so if you plan to go to college you need to get used to do homeworks.

I am a senior in high school with a decent GPA but homework really sucks!! If it's something I don't care about I just hate it. Math and physics is okay because it's problem solving and actually doing something, but things like memorizing is the worst. That's why I hated Chinese so much. I kind of liked writing the characters but tones and meaning were so hard to remember.
I'm on a stimulant for ADHD which helps in school but it wears off by evening... I try to force myself, but I just don't have a sense of urgency until it's 10PM. Good luck to all of us I guess :)
