Hi everyone, I'm a 29 y.o. male living in California. I've known for some time that I have Aspergers-ish patterns of behavior and cognition, but I actually heard it from a shrink last year. These patterns include repetitive motion, social awkwardness, and obsession with some nerdy topics. Lately I'm really into geography and politics, plus wristwatches for some reason.

I've always had a difficult time with motivation and mood, and have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder as well. I've usually done okay on medications, but with some big snags - I would have been fired from a job if I hadn't left for grad school, and grad school has been interrupted by a hospitalization and other challenges. Last year I took a leave of absence and I'm hoping to get back into the doctoral program in 2015. I've been in a pretty stable holding pattern for the last few months, but I currently have no job and no structure in my activities, which is frustrating.

Well, that's the short version. Looking forward to getting to know the community here.
