Hi, I'm self-diagnosed Asperger or high functioning autistic. I've never got officially diagnosed, because my mom would go panicked if I got officially diagnosed as an autistic, and I don't wanna see it(speaking of which, this sort of excessively sensitive way to handle the issue of my mom gave me even more struggle) But I'm pretty sure that I'm high functioning or at least in Asperger spectrum, cuz my father was(he was officially diagnosed) and I heard that Autism can be inherited genetically. "Autism" part of myself gave me a big struggle and I even got a depression from it particularly when I was a teen, but it got much better now thanks to all the striving to learn how to act in "socialized way". I want to share you guys what I went through, and change the opinions about Autism.

Welcome, here hoping you get support and understanding on this forum, i've always found it friendly.

Welcome Auriga! I agree that it is important to learn how to function in a "socialized way". I worked with a guy years ago who did not know how to interact with team members, with the exception of myself. Then one day two other team members suggested to me that this individual had Asperger's, not realizing that I had Asperger's. That was 15 years ago. In January I was officially diagnosed ASD-1 at the "youthful" age of 61.

Welcome Auriga!
Look forward to hearing your experiences.
I wasn't officially diagnosed until age 58.
