Hi all, just checking in and testing the water (I hope it's not too hot)

What can I say...

I am 54 and have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder under DSM 5, I am an aspie. I have worked with classically autistic kids on and off for the last 20 years in school and in residential children's homes. Autism is my special interest, I am a complete and utter autism geek. I also write and deliver autism training packages. I have just done a post graduate qualification in Autism and Aspergers Syndrome. Currently I am working on a MA in Autism Spectrum and work for a well known autism charity in University as a specialist autism mentor. My main hobby is astronomy but I also build and play the blues on various Cigar Box Guitars.

Just moving over from another forum, I am told things are a little gentler in this place.

I think it's safe to say we are the gentler bunch (we still get intense, but in a good way).
Welcome! And wow, good job on all your work on autism, it's pretty impressive.
