Hi Andrea, welcome to our supportive community. You will find a lot of interesting and useful information here and hopefully be less confused over time. If you have specific questions just go ahead and ask :)

Welcome :)

If you're unsure about whether you have AS, then coming here is a great place to start to find some answers. You'll find that AS is a rather complex thing to diagnose and it presents differently in different people, and also often between different genders.

I recommend joining our discussions, to help you compare yourself with our other members; who are lovely, obliging people.

Browsing our recommended resources section is also a good starting ground:

I like to recommend this book to our female members, as it accurately explains the relatable differences between men and women on the spectrum (and is a great survival guide): Aspergirls: Empowering Females With Asperger Syndrome | AspiesCentral.com

I also recommend looking in to Dr. Tony Attwood, as he is a globally-recognised expert:

You may be interested in trying some unofficial online tests (just be wary that these are not always accurate, and only act as a generalised guide): Online Tests | Life on the Spectrum

If, and when, you do decide to try for a more formal diagnoses, just be aware that there are different types of specialists; some are more specialised in the area of diagnosing AS, so be sure to ask first (as appointments can be very expensive). Also, being a woman, be sure to ask if they are specialised in diagnosing it in women as well (as it isn't uncommon for some specialists to struggle to recognise it in women. Some do not believe that it is present in women at all, or that it is rare).
