Hey I am new to this. I'm a 24 year old female in a relationship with a very high functioning male. Who has had a very rough life that has shaped him into someone that is very hard to understand and is very hurtful. I love him with all my heart but I need advice and help I feel so lost and alone and I really need help understanding him and help showing him how to understand me. I love him so much I just really am reaching out for anyone that can help me.

Hello and Welcome!! :)

Hi! There are some resources available to you here----you can browse old forum posts or read some of the books on ASD and relationships that have been mentioned somewhere (I forget where, exactly, but a mod can help).

Welcome :)

That sounds like a tricky predicament. It sounds like much of the strength in the relationship will need to come from you, as he will need much support. Like Ereth said, take a look at our threads, or you can post a question here:

This link may be helpful. Tony Atwood is a great man, who understands those on the spectrum well: Understanding my Partner with AS

Hope you find what you're looking for here.
