Have You Ever Milked A Cow?

This is a question I commonly ask people out of curiosity.

I am deathly afraid of cows. Someone tried to force me to milk one in kindergarten and I was traumatized.

No, I have never milked a cow.
I am allergic to cow milk anyway.
There wouldn't be much advantage to milking a cow, unless
I wanted the milk for some other animal.
And if I wanted milk for some other animal (or myself) goat milk
would be preferable. I am not allergic to goat milk and most
little animals digest goat milk easier than cow milk.

Yep, as I used to own a farm. Never milked a cat though, couldn't find a stool small enough.

I re-read my post immediately after this,
to make sure I had written goat & not cat.

I read, a long time ago, that mouse milk was used in radiation experiments.
IDK if they had teeny machines or got it by hand.
Seems like it would be tricky, either way.

Milking a cow is a slightly different technique from milking a goat,
but I have milked goats and it didn't seem weird to me.
I did wonder what she (any of them) thought about it, though.
And whether cows experience a hormonal rush when they get milked.

My sister had cows and said it did not seem to her that the cows felt anything
approaching love/positive regard for the people doing it to them or pleasure at all.
They used machines.

I've milked by machine, but not by hand.
The cows do feel relief as the udders can get sore and awkward when full.

Never milked a cow, but I've milked a goat. Having been a mama, I've milked a human too. I concur with the relief thing!

Yup, milked a goat and a cow on a petting farm with my kids.. milked a human too - their mum, when they were babies.. can't say I saw much response from any of them.. except my kids
