Sure I would love a new avatar Shamar. What pronouns do you go by? Mine are she/her.

Yes I have said this before - autistics typically mistake a blank face for being angry. A blank face is just that - it's blank. People rarely actually hate anyone - usually it's that they don't know you so they have no opinion of you. Before you guys (all of you who are worried if you are liked, not just OPs) get to that "no-one likes me"-pit, try to remember that as an autistic people you might have just limited perception.
For example, I couldn't even tell if I have made any friends or enemies. It requires something really in-your-face kind of interaction me to realize that "hey, this person might like/dislike me". I have actually been slapped to the back of my head for being dumb enough to not notice that "she was all over me".
Forum-format creates even less interaction to analyze than real life situations, thus decreasing chances of noticing social signals.
(Hmm... I think this forum needs a reaction "a comforting hug". That heart-symbol does not quite mean same thing to me)
No. You didn't.Did I say something wrong?
If you are referring to @Shamar's post, an amethyst gem is purple-colored. (I presume that he was being playful.)Did I say something wrong?
I have no dogs right now.Do you own a dog Crossbreed? Your avatar is cute.
For what it’s worth, @Amethystgirl, I had a similar double-take from your avatar colour as @Shamar. That green is more a match for peridot. If you are referring to @Shamar's post, an amethyst gem is purple-colored. (I presume that he was being playful.)
I think her avatar was auto-generated by the forum software. For what it’s worth, @Amethystgirl, I had a similar double-take from your avatar colour as @Shamar.
Whoops! It’s no biggie - probably just sparks a synapse in those of us with special interest in precious/semi-precious gems.I think her avatar was auto-generated by the forum software.![]()
Not to be picky,For what it’s worth, @Amethystgirl, I had a similar double-take from your avatar colour as @Shamar. That green is more a match for peridot.![]()
Sapphires and rubies are the same mineral, corundum (Al2O3, i.e. aluminium “rust”.) They were named before mineral composition was understood, their names referencing their (predominant) colours. The name sapphire now covers corundum of any colour of the rainbow except red, which is a ruby. Rubies are only of a restricted range of red. Deviate too far and you have a sapphire (and the value goes down.)Not to be picky,, but there are green amethysts. Granted most are purple, but I couldn’t resist.
I have a sporadic interest in stones and learned that the name of a stone comes from its chemical (?) composition, not its color.
So there are green amethysts and green garnets. Sapphire and rubies come in many different colors, not just blue and red, respectively.
