I remember doing that in the early days of online life. When I had ten to twenty passwords. Now I have hundreds.

Well, the box is always in the same place, so I can always find it. The Sharper Image has been selling an electronic password keeper, sort of like the old electronic calendar things that were popular in the 90s. According to them, it holds 500 passwords. I think they want $50.
For years I used the same password and changed the usernames slightly. I was able to remember the usernames most of the time. Now you can't do that, the hackers are too smart. So I bought a index card box at a thrift store for 50 cents and made dividers from the cheap cardboard used in some food boxes like snack bar boxes. It works for me.
