I really hate that title, but I can't think of anything more creative...
Hello, everybody! To start off, I made an account here only a few hours ago, so I'm pretty much brand-new here, and this is the first time I've ever joined an Internet forum (the first time I've participated in discussions and the like, at least). I came across AC while reading through TV Tropes' Asperger's Syndrome Useful Notes, and I thought it'd be a nice place to meet other Aspies like myself that I can relate to.

Allow me to introduce and tell a little about myself. I'm seventeen, currently a senior in high school living in North Carolina. I was misdiagnosed with ADHD when I started elementary school, before I was diagnosed with high-functioning autism at seven years old (around when I started the second grade), and, in my eyes anyway, it seems like my life has taken a turn for the worst ever since. To give a little insight, a lot of people take advantage of me, I've been mercilessly bullied by students and teachers alike since I started middle school, and I have no social life to speak of. Any friendships I've had only last for a month or so, at the most, or less than a week, at the least, and I can't help but wonder what it is about me that drives them all away.

Alright, let's change the subject. Some of my interests include listening to music (mostly classic country, rock, & electronic/dubstep), writing, drawing every now and again, and playing video games. My favorite genres include horror, dystopian, and post-apocalyptic related media; the video game franchise, Fallout, for example. I'm currently an aspiring writer, thanks to encouragement from one of my teachers, but, at the time, I really don't know where to start, so I'm sticking to fanfiction (don't judge me!) for the time being. Otherwise, I'm the "different interest a week" type (I think they're called "revolving/rotating interests"? I know I've heard it before), I'm sure some people can relate.

With that all said and done, like I said earlier, I'm looking forward to meeting and connecting with some of the people on here, and I hope that this can be a place that I can be myself without the fear of those around me judging and looking down on me for it.
