I heard about this place on WP and thought I would have a look.
I'm 48 and was just diagnosed at 47, after my son was diagnosed. I got one of the last Asperger's diagnoses in the US before everyone went over to DSM 5, so it was an Aspergers (will be ASD in a few months) diagnosis.
So I am still learning. It's very weird to have this thing that sort of frames my reality be unknown for so long. Even stranger to realize that other people knew it before I did. Going through suspicion to tentative self-diagnosis to diagnosis by a professional involved lots of revisiting memories I haven't thought about in years-and all of it made more sense with the understanding that it was autism.
Anyway, good to find this community here. Hopefully I can contribute something positive.
