Glitchy Earbuds

Ever since I got the ear buds, they were working great to block out loud noises. Now, they're glitching in my ear with almost EVERY movement! It started when I was cleaning my guinea pigs' cage. At every corner of the cage, it started glitching in my ears!

The other ones I traded with my mother start glitching every time I lay down! My bed is also in a corner as well as the cage. I would take a picture, but I don't know if it would be okay here to take a picture of a part of my room. Idk if it's from accidentally getting them wet, or if all skull candy ear buds are that defective!

I'm planning on getting a second pair if I get enough money, so that way, I can continue to switch between the two as the other one charges, and I can give my mother back hers.

Could you explain in greater detail what this "glitch" is or more to the point, what it sounds like? Some kind of unwanted sound made when you move in a certain way while wearing them?

One thing for sure, the wires used with earbuds tend to be very thin ones with enamel coating for insulation. If the wires are inadvertently crimped sufficiently, it can damage the enamel and make the earbuds potentially more prone to various types of sound interference. Also too much tension between the wire and the plug or the earbuds themselves can weaken and eventually cut sound altogether.

Basically excessive bending of the wires as well as pulling on them are some of the most basic reasons for such headphones to quickly fail. Something that can potentially happen on even some of the more expensive units.

SkullCandy earbuds are some of the best on the market.
To get close to that quality of sound reproduction, you would at least have to pay $90-120 for a pair of Klipsch--- and still, the bass response would be lacking.
You have probably bent the wire at the plug, severing it partially, or torqued the jack on your device.
Test this by trying another set of earbuds.

If you bought them from an approved vendor and have the reciept.

Year and a half ago, I bought a pair of SC bluetooth earbuds. Un-freaking-believable!
Had them for a week and went back to buy another pair.
They are a little stiffly priced---$50 american.
But I highly recommend them.
For such a lightweight set, the charge lasts forever.
That would eliminate plug problems, which is probably what you're now facing.

Ok. I will try getting another pair if I get my refund money (extra money from financial aid, GI bills, etc.) from the college. My mother and I both have one pair, but I'm currently using both to switch between them during the day while the other one charges. I especially need both on Fridays since I have to stay up there for an extra hour for my biology lab, and I usually have one charging in the car while I'm using the other in class to help me with the noise problem caused by my sensitive hearing. The ear buds are a part of my disability accommodations I've gotten, so I can complete independent work without having to stop and grab my ears. I usually at metal (tolerable kind) cause it's loud enough to block out noises. With driving, I can actually pay attention to the road and other drivers better with the earbuds blocking the loud car's motor noise that caused me to have a meltdown. The ear buds actually make driving safer for me, believe it or not, cause I can't drive if I'm having a meltdown from the loud noise of the car. That could cause an accident, so I need the warbird at all times, especially when I'm out. If I need to hear something, I can take one earbud out. But I'm already planning to get a second pair, so my mother can get hers back, and I'll have two to switch between, and that'll even keep the noises at home from bothering me.

i can relare to that,because the same thing happened to me with this sound that iritates me ,i would cut them with scissors if i wanted to,but they're all i have until this other pair of earbuds that i ordered online come in the mail.

Try a brand that is more expensive and use wired earbuds. You might want to browse Amazon to look for what is best for you. Pay attention to Amazon and YouTube reviews on the ones you are interested. Pick 3 or 4 and compare what people are saying to see what is the best option out of the 3 or 4. That is what I usually do when shopping for new stuff.

I prefer wireless, the kind I have. Skull Candy. It's much easiereasier wheb I'm having to walk and drive around all day and carry a bunch of stuff.

Wireless headphones aren't really my thing. They are notable for having a larger delay when compared to wired due to interference cause by other wireless signals. Who knows, maybe the corners of your house are just the parts of your house that wireless connections just wanna go?

I usually just wear my wired HyperX Cloud Stinger wired gaming headset around, since I do not have any devices that are capable of Bluetooth except for the desktop, which I share with my mom and dad. It might be impractical to wear an entire gaming headset around all the time, but it's actually pretty light, along with being very robust.
