Found something that looked like a 3.5 sound cable to 2 RCAs but...

Hi-c@

Found something that looked like a 3.5 sound cable to 2 RCAs but the sound input was alot smaller and cannot be used on normal 3,5 sound outputs, it falls. i found several other rca cables at the same time and place that did work so this might do to but i dont know what it's for.
i took a picture of it and a picture of a classic mini tele 3,5 together and mixing to the imges for the purpose of showing the difference:

does any1 know what i found, what it is for?/thx

That is an RCA to 2.5 mm adapter. Most mobile devices use a 3.5mm jack but, some use the smaller 2.5 mm jack. Conference phones, like those used in offices are notorious for having 2.5 mm jacks. Some studio and concert audio equipment has 2.5 mm jacks as well so, that does have a lot of potential uses.

thx 2 u both =) then the cable will be saved in its entirety.

it's now saved from becoming an electronic leftover like this ones:
