In this thread, let's share restaurants and grocery stores that are offering free food or financial assistance in our local areas to families affected by the government shutdown. And also food banks too.

Please tell the city/state that the food or economic resource is located, and also contact info for said resource.

Also, TANF (Temporary cash Assistance to Needy Families) and WIC (supplemental food for pregnant women and children under 5) are paused during the shutdown. That's going to hurt the poorest families ability to pay rent or buy formula. Pregnant women won't be able to get food either.

These government programs, depending on the state also pays for some people's housing or medical expenses.

Let's also remember that military families and government employees are not getting paid right now, and are possibly going hungry or are late on housing, utility, and medical expenses.

So let's all chip in and post resources we are aware of in our local area to people affected by the government shutdown.
