Firefox directs me to random YouTube video's

Hello everyone,

I own an HP laptop that runs on Windows 8.1. I installed Chrome, Firefox and Explorer, but I mainly use Firefox whenever I want to browse the internet. On my previous laptop, which ran on Windows 7, that never gave me issues. But for the first time ever I experienced YouTube not working properly on Firefox.

When I click a video, the video plays for an X amount of seconds. Then I am being redirected to the next video in that playlist, or a video in the "suggestions" list at the right of the screen. This doesn't always happen, but it happens often enough for me to be very annoyed about it. Does anyone know what this problem is and how to fix it?

PS: if you Google this, you find information about this "redirecting virus", which is not what is causing my issues with Firefox. The redirecting virus redirects you to websites whenever you click in your Firefox browser. So that is not the cause of this issue.
...To be honest, I don't think it's a virus at all since I had this laptop for about 3 days, and I haven't done anything weird with it.

I don't have such a problem with Firefox 33.1.1, but you might try this:

Go into "options", then choose the "general" tab. In the box called "accessibility", check the box for “Warn me when websites try to redirect or load the page” and then click "ok".

While you may get a prompt to accept or deny a redirect, at least it won't automatically default to redirecting. But I'd think if your browser continually brings up such prompts, you probably do have some kind of malware (BHO) relative to only Firefox happening.

You might consider running programs like "HiJackThis" to detect and possibly eliminate such things.
