Feeling really pleased with one's self, when a good idea comes to mind.

I wonder if this is normal, that when you have a good idea, you feel really good about yourself? It is as though a child has thought of something and feels proud when their parents congratulate them and in truth that is exactly how I do feel.

It is very annoying, because as a grown woman it should be a case of: so what?
 
I was into mechanical engineering,manufacturing and troubleshooting. The reward was placed in my bank account when a good idea came to fruition.
 
  • For me, it usually represents closure.
  • If it is elegant, too, it registers like a work of art (regardless of whose idea it was).
  • If it is rare to any degree, I'm glad that it happens from time to time.
 
Yes, I feel good when I have a good idea, but more so when I can put that idea in to action and it works out.

For example, I'll be happy when I think of a new hat I could make, but the real pride comes when I've worked out the pattern and actually made the thing. Even more so if there's an issue with the design or pattern that I need to figure out.
