Fear of wasting money

I hate spending money on electronics because I always end up feeling like I made the wrong choice and always find had I waited a bit longer or paid just a small amount of money more I could have got something far superior. I remember in the late nineties I got a keyboard (of the musical type), for not much more I could have got one with a USB connection, recording function and a lot more options. Even my dad said I should get the pricier one but as he was paying partially for it I felt I was wasting his money. The keyboard I got was clunky, and otherwise just not very good at all. It ended up being the waste of money in the end as it was pretty much useless. The usb-enabled one would probably still be good today. I've had the same thing happen with laptops, phones, household appliances....the only things I did make a good choice with were my blender and juicer.
