The more I learn about ASD...the more clearly I see myself. My castle walls are crashing down.(it's like one of those naked in public nightmares ) That was a good thing till I saw what's on the other side. I'm learning to live here at AC.

I am realizing so much about myself, but horrifyingly what others see about me. I am now pretty much afraid of my Facebook account, which I often delete people from. I have 74 friends on it that are all family, but I don't trust my family, or my husband's family. They judge me for my obsessions, when I'm researching I often share what I find to my facebook, I started receiving negative comments from people. "You think too much.", "you're a crazy cat lady.", "you post too many photos."ect. Everyone just uses it to judge people for who they are. Not accept them. I feel more at home on AC.

I AGREE...I just made my fb account private ,only for me! I've always been misunderstood there
I did this also, I long for the connection but to them I'm just weird. I'm sticking to AC, at least I can find people who understand and can connect on levels where I feel accepted.

I agree, although with Facebook I now don't give a monkeys. I add quite random people as friends now who I don't know in real life, and if anyone on my friends' list doesn't like it they can unfriend me. Similarly I started posting about my obsessions, I posted the other day about a major historical discovery I had made by accident through other genealogical research; namely that in the 1600s to the 1800s a sizeable number of Britons moved to and settled in Denmark. I looked into it and nobody else has noticed this. There was one case covered on the Danish version of Who Do You Think You Are? But that is it. There is also no obvious explanation as to why though many of them were non-conformist protestants or calvinists at a time when that was highly restricted. I thought this status would bore people but to my surprise some found it really interesting.

I'm giddy like a kid with this site, especially when I get responses. I'm starting to be able to express myself freely. Weeeeeee[emoji126] [emoji133]
