Exercising While Waiting

Does anyone else do this?

I have these processes that take like 3 minutes to finish involving ai automation.
Sometimes 10 minutes.
And i have fitness stuff in my living room like a stationary bike or some weights. Or i'll do situps or pushups.

And I just do in between. I kind of look at my screen every minute and see if it's done. So i can get more done in a day and stay in shape.

There’s a calf stretch I do that’s done against a wall - that can be done anywhere. I also do some of my other stretching exercises in my chair at work in between tasks. Unfortunately, my supervisor isn’t pleased with that - she says I should be using my time for work. Thus, if I do my exercises during work time, she says I need to work a little during lunch.

I have an exercise bike and weights that I use most days. Also push ups, stretches and a few Yoga poses to fill in idle periods. And I walk when I'm on the phone...room to room!

I tried doing small interspersed exercise like this, but it was always a struggle. So I tend to cram it all in one 45 min session in the early morning. Low-equipment-need "push/pull against my own body weight" sort of core exercises, except we do have a treadmill. I find very regular exercise helps keep me more clear-headed and less prone to deep depression troughs.

I keep most of my "exercising" to walking. Always making sure to park my car on the periphery of any parking lot, especially the really large ones. And to do a lot of walking in any store.

Using a bicycle for my main transportation was a great way to integrate exercise into daily life, while also saving time and money, maintaining fitness, etc. On a busy day I got more exercise instead of less, and if it was stressful, I would go even faster to automatically burn off the adrenaline.
These days I do my stretching while waiting for things to cook.

I will pace while waiting on something like the coffee machine. Sometimes I will do something like jumping jacks as well. Sometimes (especially if outside) when I am waiting for something I'll do some of my balance tricks. Also, when filling a pitcher of water at the faucet, I will very frequently do squats as it fills.

I also pace and take off galloping spontaneously at intervals while listening to music. I think this particular one is largely connected to a maladaptive daydreaming issue though. Music playing sets background mode for elaborate story plots and if the story gets exciting I start galloping.

One time I had to wait about 20 minutes in a woodworking shop, so I asked them for some hand sanding to do. (Not everyone can be trusted with a power sander.)
