Do your knees make noises?

Mine make bubbling sounds.
Where they bubble away I can hear them.
They creak and bubble I have noticed it since younger I do not know what it means when your knees bubble.

A loud "pop", usually when I'm getting onto the floor with the dogs.

Though really for me, everything pops.

Bothers people around me sometimes, they assume it must hurt.

They used to, but not in recent years. I'm not sure if it has to do with my increased fitness levels, but that would probably make sense. I think body parts become less rigid when they're in motion, which is nice.

Something like oxygen or something that builds up between joints and pops? I read it about a very long time ago and don't quite remember. As far as I recall, it's harmless.

Mine do! They have a clicking noise when I move them. I have small knee bones, so maybe it’s from that.

All the time. It is called "crepitus." It literally means "noisy body part." If someone says they are decrepit, that's what they are referring to, as long as they know the word's meaning.

I could never sneak up on someone because my ankles are so loud. Been that way since I was a teenager. Hasn't caused any problems so far.

I get noises all the time. Sometimes they crack when I kneel down to do something. Sometimes there's a slight grinding noise. None of it hurts, so I just ignore the sound effects. Things work a bit different as we get older.

Mine sometimes sound like gravel grinding away in there. In general, I have so many clunks and pops, I can be my own one man rhythm section just walking down the street

I'm 47. Yes. Oh, the myriad of noises sometimes. I will say that my knees are in pretty decent shape, especially after having torn three ligaments about 30 years ago. I drink flavored collagen on a friend's recommendation, and it really has helped my joints all over feel better. Pops and such still happen, but that's just A G E disease kicking in.

Only when I contemplate hurdling something. Then my knees say, "Don't even think about it!"

Mine used to crack and pop a few years ago. Started doing routine exercises and they became totally quiet.

I think atrophy is our greatest detriment.

I have my official Old Geezer wallet ID. I have had osteoarthritis since I was 14. (Started getting grey hair at 14 as well.) Strange noises are just part of the gig.
