Do you ever read where's wally?

I think you mean Where's Waldo. There's quite a few books and a large fan club. I always hated them as a kid because of the name. I somehow ended up with the nickname Waldo at school and hated it.

I spent hours and hours poring over those pictures. I feel like I still know every one by heart.
 
I remember reading and loving the books. There was also a TV show back in the 90s and it looks like it got a reboot in 2019. There were also a few pretty bad video games released. Imagine reading Where's Wally/Waldo with 80s NES graphics!

I quite liked Waldo, so I had gotten that as a Christmas present.

Rented this once, way back when.

I tell ya, that game makes even less sense when actually played. As if the screenshot isnt wonky enough just by itself. I think AVGN did an episode on this.

Looks like there was also a remake by Ubisoft. To be fair to them, Wally/Waldo is pretty...iconic.
 
In Canada and the US they changed his name from Wally to Waldo. Can't understand why. Maybe they thought Waldo sounded more "edgy" in the 1990s?
 
I only ever knew it as Where's Waldo. I can't remember just when they came out here but it wasn't during my early childhood.

[Edit] I couldn't resist and had to look it up, 1987. I was 22 years old.
 
Yesterday at Walmart I saw a Where's Minnie book, where you look for Minnie Mouse instead of Waldo as she travels around the world.
It occurred to me that I would really HATE being in one of these books, because there are just way too many people. I don't know how people can even breathe when there are so many crowded together.
 
I always thought those drawing were a little weird. He's the only one wearing a red and white stripey shirt. It's difficult to not see him. :)
