Difficulty regulating my voice when angry

I am winding my husband up, because when I feel passionate about something or a minted, my voice gets louder and louder and I feel wound up, when he interrupt me and tells me to quieten down a bit. He does use the hand in a downwards motion and sometimes it works, but that is when I am excited about some thing, but when angry about some thing, it just adds to my anger.

Any tips on how to deal with this?

In this kind of situation where I really need to control my frustration I'm more likely to stim (usually rub my hands together, bite my lip, pace or tug at my hair) and try to ride it out, or else go to the bathroom or bedroom depending where I am, to calm down to avoid a potential meltdown.

I agree with Progster. If I were in your situation, I would try to get somewhere by myself til I was calm again, so nobody is getting annoyed with me and I can keep myself under control. I need to make sure that I have been calm for a while though, before I emerge, because if not, I am at risk of being very un-calm again very soon.
Good luck!

Thanks both of you for taking the time to reply. As it happens, I guess my husband had a bit of time to think about things and came out with an idea and that is, for HIM to move away, rather than demanding I lower my voice.

I can lower my voice when I am made to come aware of talking loud, due to excitement and that is no problem at all; so, I shall give it a try, that if I am loud due to anger, and he doesn't move away, I will excuse myself and try and calm myself down.
